Rules



Participants should register and play the Gold Rush individually. Team registrations are not allowed.
Participants should register and play with only one account. If any participant is found violating this policy (i.e. playing with multiple accounts), he/she will be disqualified.

The Gold Rush consists of 2 Rounds (Elims and Finale)

The elims consist of 10 sub-quests while the finals is a single quest.

Top 450 finalists win vouchers worth INR 1000

We have full rights to disqualify any player and revoke the prizes if we find that he/she has been using unfair means like cheating, hacking, etc to obtain high rank.

Decision of the the Gold Rush team will be final for each question/answer and the winner.

Elims (Dec 2nd-4th, 2011)

The first round (elimination round) will run for two days and will consist of 10 sub-quests.

The round begins on 2nd Dec, 8am and closes on 4th Dec, 8pm. No submissions will be accepted past 8pm.

A total of 10 sub-quests will have to be solved during this round.

A total of 16 main questions and 8 bonus questions will be solved in the eliminations round.

The questions are in the form of images, sounds, text, videos or a combination thereof.

Each Bonus question is worth 400 points.

Each Main question is worth 200 points.

The Bonus question can be skipped over to Main questions, but the game will not proceed to the next question unless a correct answer is submitted for the Main question.

Once skipped the Bonus question will no longer be available.

Hints are available for both Bonus & Main question. Each hint carries a penalty of 50 points.

For Main questions: participants are allowed multiple attempts for each question. No penalty will be charged for wrong attempts

For Bonus questions: participants are allowed multiple attempts for each question. However, a penalty of 25 points will be charged for every wrong answer beyond the 2nd try.

Top 25% participants will quality for the Finale.

In case there is a tie in scores, the relative time taken to answer the questions will decide the qualifiers.


Finale (Dec 5th, 2011)


The Finale consists of 1 subquest consisting of 15 questions.

The questions are in the form of images, sounds, text, videos or a combination thereof.

The finale will be launched on 8:00 p.m, 5th December

The finale is based on a "Race to the Finish" format.

1st person to finish the Finale subquest wins. By 1st person we mean, the first person to finish all questions after 8pm.

The winners will be decided based on the finale alone.


Important Dates


November 28: Team Registrations for the Gold Rush begins.
December 2-4: Elims (2nd Dec 8:00am – 4th Dec 8:00pm).
December 4: Winners of Elims declared on Gold Rush Blog at midnight.
December 5: Finale begins at 8:00 pm.
